Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 July 2026
This policy explains what personal data TradeCookbook collects, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
TradeCookbook ("we", "us") is an independent website run by an individual operator — not a registered company. The operator is the data controller for this website and can be reached at privacy@tradecookbook.com.
What we collect
TradeCookbook is a content site — we don't hold trading accounts or take deposits. The data involved is limited to:
- Server logs — your IP address, browser/device type and the pages you request, logged automatically by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
- Analytics— if enabled, we use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that collects aggregate, non-identifying usage stats and sets no advertising cookies. We don't build profiles or track you across sites.
- Messages you send us — if you email us or use a contact form, we keep your message and address to reply.
We do not knowingly collect data from children, and we don't sell your personal data.
Cookies and affiliate tracking
We use only the cookies needed to run the site and, where enabled, analytics. When you click an affiliate link to a broker or exchange, that third party may set its own cookies to attribute the referral — this is how we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you (see our affiliate disclosure). Those cookies are governed by the destination site's own privacy policy, not ours. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings.
Third parties
We rely on service providers that process limited data on our behalf — typically our hosting/CDN provider, an analytics provider (if enabled) and an email provider. The broker and exchange sites you visit through our links are independent third parties with their own policies.
How long we keep data
Server logs and analytics are retained only as long as needed for security and to understand usage, and email correspondence only as long as needed to handle your query.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the UK/EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email privacy@tradecookbook.com. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
International transfers & changes
Our providers may process data outside your country; where required we use appropriate safeguards. We may update this policy as the site evolves — the date at the top shows the latest version.
